The Garret Mountain Reservation, which is also spelled Garrett, is a park that spans over 568 acres (230 ha) and is situated on First Watchung Mountain (Garret Mountain) in Paterson and Woodland Park (formerly West Paterson), in the southernmost portion of Passaic County, New Jersey. As a component of the listing for the Great Falls of Paterson-Garret Mountain, it was given the status of a National Natural Landmark in the year 1967. Clifton is included within the park's boundaries. The largest recreational area in Passaic County is located on Garret Mountain. It features grass fields, several miles of walking and running trails, basketball courts, picnic areas, and Barbour's Pond, which is stocked by the state with fish specifically for anglers. Additionally, there is an Equestrian Center at Garret Mountain, which offers horseback riding lessons.

There is a community of Eastern Christians in the rugged Carpatho-Rus region, also called Carpatho-Ruthenia, which is located between modern-day Slovakia and Ukraine. The Byzantine Church of Constantinople provided the Holy Gospel and Sacred Mysteries (Sacraments) to this community, which was evangelized by Saints Cyril and Methodius, who were equivalent to the apostles, in the ninth century.
