The Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) Program of Contra Costa County is a dedicated organization committed to making a significant impact on the lives of children and families in need. Recognizing the critical issues facing youth and families within the community, CASA strives to address these challenges head-on. The program understands that dropping out of school, becoming a teenage parent, and being unable to work a full-time job can increase the likelihood of living in poverty to 76%. However, CASA is also aware that with the right support and guidance, this trajectory can be significantly altered. By graduating from high school, avoiding early parenthood, and securing full-time employment, the chance of living in poverty drops to just 2%.
