What’s the ACT Label?
ACT stands for Accountability, Consistency, Transparency
It’s like an eco-nutrition label for lab products: it gives each product a series of scores for its impact on the environment
This label allows lab personnel to reduce their environmental impact through direct comparison of products, facilitating smarter purchases
A list of lab consumables, chemicals, and equipment that use the ACT Label is available in this database

Why does size matter?
Consolidated reagents: no wash buffer, reduced reaction volumes
Thinking outside the box
Thermo Scientific TSX ULT freezers use up to 70% less energy than older conventional units, saving as much as 6 tons of CO2 per year. That’s the same amount of greenhouse gas emissions generated by driving nearly 15,000 miles in an average passenger vehicle, similar to going back and forth from New York to Los Angeles about five-and-a-half times.
